About

Be the Light Consulting helps nonprofits, churches, and mission-driven organizations strengthen their people, processes, and profit so they can operate with greater clarity, confidence, and impact. Through strategic planning, facilitation, and hands-on consulting, we turn big ideas and organizational challenges into practical strategies that move the mission forward.

Our Story

Be the Light Consulting began with a simple observation: the heart to serve is often bigger than the capacity to do the work. In 2014, our founder, Regina Taylor, was working alongside her church to expand the capacity and impact of its nonprofit arm. Through that experience, she saw firsthand that churches and community organizations were filled with people who cared deeply about their neighbors and were ready to answer the call to serve. What they often lacked wasn’t passion or purpose, it was the time, structure, systems, and resources needed to turn that passion into sustainable impact.

That need became even more visible in 2020, as churches and nonprofits stepped forward to meet unprecedented community needs providing food, supporting families, connecting people to resources, and filling critical gaps. Many of these organizations were small, deeply rooted in their communities, and committed to helping people change their lives.

Be the Light Consulting was created to help them do that work well.

Our name is inspired by Matthew 5:14, when Jesus declares, “You are the light of the world.” We believe churches, nonprofits, and mission-driven leaders have the opportunity to be lights in their communities and in the lives of their neighbors. And as Matthew 5:16 reminds us, our light is demonstrated through what we do. Our goal is to help organizations strengthen their people, processes, and resources so their good work can shine even brighter. You already have the heart to serve. Be the Light helps build the capacity to do it well.
